The workstation of the AltoStar® Workflow

The AltoStar® Automation System AM16 is a robotic pipetting workstation used for sample purification and PCR setup controlled by the AltoStar® Connect Software. It is intended to be used in combination with the AltoStar® Purification Kit 1.5, the AltoStar® Internal Control 1.5 and altona Diagnostics PCR kits for automated purification of nucleic acids and automated assay setup for in vitro diagnostic purposes.

 

The AltoStar® AM16 is intended for use by professional users trained in molecular biological techniques and the operation of the AltoStar® AM16 instrument.

    Human whole blood (EDTA or citrate), plasma (EDTA or citrate), serum, urine, stool, CSF, swabs, BAL

  • Sample volume:

    200μl, 500μl or 1000μl, parallel processing in one run

  • Sample handling:

    Various types of primary and secondary sample tubes (from 2mL to 50 mL)

  • Sample capacity:

    1–96 or 1–48 (500/1000μl sample volume)

  • Mixed batches

    Processing of different sample types in parallel, up to 8 assays in the same run

  • Purification:

    Ready-to-use reagents, no refill or mixing necessary, one chemistry for DNA and RNA

  • Throughput:

    Up to 384 analyses per run (96x4)

  • Process reliability:

    Barcoded reagents for full traceability, tracking of sample information and worklists, automated monitoring of pipetting steps (TADM)

  • LIS connectivity:

    Bidirectional LIS interface
