The FlexStar® Norovirus Type & Rotavirus RT-PCR Detection Mix 1.5 (RUO) is out now. It’s the first product of the gastrointestinal panel of the FlexStar® product line. The product is designed to detect and differentiate norovirus GI, norovirus GII and rotavirus in one real-time PCR reaction. A CE-IVD version of the FlexStar® Norovirus Type & Rotavirus RT-PCR Detection Mix 1.5 will be available soon.
The FlexStar® products are combinable ready-to-use PCR assays for quick and parallel testing of pathogens causing similar symptoms. The optimized PCR design ensures reduced cycler time and allows up to 96 results per real-time PCR cycler in just one hour.
Complementing the FlexStar® Norovirus Type & Rotavirus RT-PCR Detection Mix 1.5, the FlexStar® HAdV & HAstV & SaV RT-PCR Detection Mix 1.5 (for the detection of adenovirus & astrovirus & sapovirus) will be the next product available in the gastrointestinal panel. In addition to the viral parameters detectable with these two FlexStar® products, the FlexStar® gastrointestinal panel will be expanded by the FlexStar® E. coli Pathotype 1 PCR Detection Mix 1.5 and the FlexStar® E. coli Pathotype 2 PCR Detection Mix 1.5.
